Money –

· Scotland, though part of the European Union, still uses British Sterling, that’s the pound. · Scotland is of course chip and pin compliant, so you can securely pay for goods by entering the pin number of your credit or debit card which instantly registers the sale, instead of just signing your name. · ATMs are scattered all over the city and in some shops, and if you’ve forgotten all major cards are accepted. · It’s common courtesy to leave a 10% tip at all restaurants as long as a service fee isn’t include on the bill.

Business Hours-

· Shops normally open between 9am to 6pm on weekdays and Saturdays, and there’s late night shopping up to 9pm in a number of the larger stores and shopping centres on Thursdays and Fridays. Certain shops do open on Sundays with shortened hours which vary from place to place.

· There are various public telephone’s scattered around the city, the majority of them operated by British Telecom. You can use phone cards or pay by coins to phone people, send texts or even get on the internet.
