This majestic and imposing old granite castle stands dominantly on the Edinburgh skyline looking down on the rest of the town. Situated right in the centre of town on Castle Rock mound, it dates back to the 16th century and is pretty hard to miss, whether you’re wandering the New Town to the South and the East or the Old Town to North and West.
